Prefab2030-banner

The prefabricated homes of 2030 are here – ArchiFrame launches a global architectural contest aimed at finding innovative prefab ideas

What shape and form will wood building take in the construction industry in 2030? ArchiFrame is seeking for an answer to this by launching  Prefab 2030. The main prize is a combined ArchiFrame & Archicad license for 1 year (worth over $ 8, 000). ArchiSolutions Oy challenges architects, students, and engineers to innovate and rethink how to build a prefab home out of wood that will be creative, liveable, and efficient to build.

Architecture competition: Rethink prefabrication for 2030

Our international competition gives participants a free hand a to shape their dream prefabricated timber home using BIM software. The competition encourages participants to come up with creative plans for prefabricated houses that interest both builders and future homeowners.

We are looking for a residential building that will serve as the basis for a new kind of prefabricated community, eschewing common issues endemic to prefabricated buildings (lack of creativity, monotonous designs).

We want to see a residential building that is prefabricated without losing any of the joy and creativity of a home.

We want to see a livable and innovative house design that makes the most of available building materials, embracing their creative and sustainable potential.

The home desiged can be located in either a rural, suburban, or an urban environment, and we welcome designs that push the boundaries of what a home can look like.

Participation inrofmation

The competition is open to all, including existing customers and users. No professional qualifications are required. Design proposals can be developed individually or by teams.

The aim is to create a model for a residential building that will be suitable for prefabrication.

To create your building, you will need to use Archicad and its extension, ArchiFrame.

The home should accommodate a minimum of 2-3 people, but we will also accept micro home designs as well as larger buildings such as skyscrapers. There is no required scale for the building.
