Nordic BIM Group and Messukeskus Helsinki are launching a brand-new competition at FinnBuild 2026! The competition is open to higher education students in the construction industry across Finland who have completed at least their third year of studies. The application period is open until 31 August 2026. We encourage teams to apply as early as possible to allow plenty of time for preparing the competition entry.<\/p>\n

Competition Assignment<\/h2>\n

The task is to design a concept for a future-oriented, low-carbon, modular and relocatable detached house that can be developed into a real building project.<\/p>\n

The design work will be carried out using Archicad, which will be provided free of charge to all selected teams. The goal is to develop a scalable building concept that can adapt and relocate according to the changing life situations of its residents.<\/p>\n

We are looking for teams of 3\u20136 students representing the fields of architecture, structural engineering and building services engineering. A maximum of 8 teams will be selected for the competition.<\/p>\n

What Participants Gain<\/h2>\n

The competition offers a unique opportunity to develop practical design and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary BIM environment. The final projects will be showcased at the FinnBuild trade fair.<\/p>\n

Awards<\/h2>\n

Prizes will be awarded in four categories, and all participants will receive diplomas.<\/p>\n
