There&#8217;s been some interesting new additions to the software recently, including a new metal connectors tool. The framing side of things is functioning really well and there has been praise from the construction site on current processes. The CLT side of things is still in development, but there&#8217;s a lot of interesting things in the pipeline. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"577\" src=\"https:\/\/archiframe.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/20241105_133836-1024x577.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29134\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archiframe.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/20241105_133836-1024x577.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/archiframe.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/20241105_133836-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archiframe.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/20241105_133836-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/archiframe.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/20241105_133836-1536x865.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/archiframe.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/20241105_133836-2048x1153.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In a panel discussion, people shared their experiences of static calculation, saying that is not necessarily worth it, suggesting a better workaround: export the Archicad model directly to the calculation function (CLT boards are a different scenario though).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">IdeaStructura Oy: tips on how to succeed with your Archicad model<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ideastructura.com\/\">IdeaStructura Oy<\/a> presentation looked at both frame and CLT models and provided an interesting insight into their processes. Instead of using a starting base or a template, they use an Archicad file that is renamed. This means that that elements never get new GUIDs, which would happen with a template. According to Nordic BIM Group Finland, mod files work better than pln files. Great insights!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Timehouse: integrating Archicad with other systems (ERP, PLM etc)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/archiframe.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5086-1-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archiframe.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5086-1-1024x768.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/archiframe.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5086-1-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/archiframe.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5086-1-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/archiframe.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5086-1-1536x1152.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/archiframe.fi\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_5086-1.jpeg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.timehouse.fi\/en\/services\/software-development\/cad-bim-software-development\/integrations\/\">Timehouse<\/a> demoed the integration of ERP\/PLM etc systems with Archicad. The extension they made for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kontio.com\/en\/\">Kontio<\/a> enables accurate quantities to be obtained from a model faster. The integration method helps data quality to remain high. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;By enriching the data model, not only can we embrace the concept of digital twins when it comes to the model, but we can also create digital twins of the actual modelling and production&nbsp;<em>processes<\/em>.\u201d&nbsp;(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timehouse.fi\/en\/case-kontio-integration-bim-workflows-across-the-organisation\/\">source<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pekka Tuominen and the new Archicad 28<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Pekka Tuominen from Nordic BIM Group Finland gave a talk on the new important features of Archicad 28. In terms of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nordicbim.com\/fi\/en\/products\/archiframe\">ArchiFrame<\/a>, the best new features are improved source references for details and better BIMx. Old libraries, including ArchiFrame, work well in the new Archicad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/archiframe.fi\/en\/news\/top-archiframe-hacks\/\">Our hacks blog<\/a> also received a mention on the day, which is great to hear.
